And boy, have we come a long way. From June 2023, when I first conceived the idea of the firm in Bali (the last photo below of the lion was of a picture I purchased on that trip – reminding that I had to be brave, vibrant and fearless in this path I chose for myself) to now October 2025 when we just turned terrible two! How much we (and I personally) have grown.

The successes in court and before tribunals, in resolving disputes in mediation for clients, in growing from 3 people in June 2025 (our firm photoshoot in Bali) to 6 at the moment and 9 in January 2026. The fact that we have moved offices once and are moving out in January 2026 because we are bursting at our seams. All of that is thanks to our wonderful clients, the great team that supports me and God who blesses us abundantly everyday. (The broader photo with friends of the Firm who joined us in Bali).

But what I really want to share is the insights I have gathered in the hope that it will inspire others on this entrepreneurial journey. If you want to grow as a person, as a leader as a human being, start something and build it from scratch. There’s nothing more humbling and yet at the same time exciting than creating something with your own hands out of passion and love and surrounded by people who you admire and respect. Better still, if you’re inspired by a purpose (why) and you keep at it – you’ll really enjoy and cherish the journey.

I started the Firm because I wanted to create a high performing disputes boutique that was focused on fearless advocacy, and on being the voice for the voiceless and making a difference to our clients everyday. I wanted to provide the big firm excellence with a boutique personal touch to clients. My second aim was to mentor and groom the next gen of courtroom advocates. Everyday, when I think about what we do for our clients, the difficult cases we argue and the rigour and passion with which we marshall arguments fearlessly (including my wonderful team) – it’s truly a dream to be able to use the skills and talent that God has given you to have an impact on others and serve wholeheartedly.

So while we get ready for the next phase of expansion, The SC LLC 2.0 – which is a whole new adventure, I pray that God keeps me humble and true to the twin pillars for which the Firm was set up.

That when times get tough, we have faith in His providence and His timing and that we will soldier on and never give up. And more importantly, when things are smooth-sailing, we will aspire to do more and do better, and ensure that we will always be the light for others and seek to serve wholeheartedly (the picture below is of beautiful skyline of Bali with the twinkling stars).
